Yuja is episode #14 of the "Living the Classical LIfe" interview series. This was filmed in the beginning of the year. Yuja talks candidly about her approach to performance, what she wants in life (Louis Vuitton shoes?), and her experience with conductor Claudio Abbado, who recently passed. The interview begins: "You know what is the best motivation? When guys are being assholes." LOL. She claims to intentionally not practice pieces after she learns them so as not to ruin them for the performance. She plays a little Art Tatum from memory. You don't really know a pianist until you've heard him/her talk while playing.
